Tendenzialmente expresses a general tendency rather than a strict rule: È tendenzialmente vero ('It is generally true'). It derives from tendenziale (tendential) + -mente and carries a slightly hedging, academic tone. It is stronger than di solito ('usually') and softer than sempre ('always').
