teoria
theory
noun teh-oh-REE-ah Less Common
Origin: from Greek theoria 'contemplation'
Usage Note
Teoria works much like English 'theory', but note the fixed phrase in teoria ('in theory'), often paired with in pratica ('in practice'). The plural teorie keeps the stress on the second-to-last syllable.
Examples
"La sua teoria è molto convincente."
Natural Translation

Literal Translation
The his theory is very convincing.
