Usage Note
Tragicommedia is a feminine noun for a theatrical or narrative work blending tragic and comic elements. In everyday Italian it is also used colloquially to describe a situation that is simultaneously absurd and painful: La sua vita è una tragicommedia. The plural is regular: tragicommedie.
