Usage Note
Uguagliare means to make something equal to something else, or to reach the same level as a record or score: uguagliare un primato (to equal a record). It takes avere as its auxiliary. Do not confuse with essere uguale (to be equal, as a state); uguagliare emphasizes the act of reaching equality.
