Usage Note
Vigere is a formal, defective verb used almost exclusively in the third person (vige, vigono) to describe laws, rules, or customs currently in force. It has no past participle in modern use. An equivalent phrasing is essere in vigore: La legge vige ancora = La legge è ancora in vigore.
