Vulgata (also capitalised Vulgata) is feminine (la vulgata, pl. le vulgate). In religious history it is the Latin Bible translated by St Jerome. In modern secular use la vulgata refers to a widely accepted but oversimplified version of events or the conventional wisdom on a topic.
