Usage Note
Weekend is an English loanword, invariable in Italian (il weekend, i weekend). It is used throughout Italy in both formal and informal contexts, largely displacing the native fine settimana (which remains in use but sounds slightly more formal). Always masculine: un bel weekend, questo weekend.
