Usage Note
Affare means a business deal or bargain (un buon affare, 'a good deal'), but in the plural gli affari it means 'business' generally and gli Affari Esteri means 'Foreign Affairs'. Colloquially un affare can dismissively mean 'a thingy' or contraption.
