Affollare is a regular first-conjugation verb. The reflexive affollarsi is extremely common: la piazza si affollava di turisti ('the square was filling up with tourists'). The past participle affollato functions as an adjective meaning 'crowded' (il treno è affollato = 'the train is packed').
