Usage Note

Aggiornare takes avere. Its most common modern use is 'to update' software, information, or a person: aggiorna il tuo profilo ('update your profile'). In formal/parliamentary language it means 'to adjourn': la seduta è aggiornata a domani ('the session is adjourned to tomorrow'). The reflexive aggiornarsi means 'to keep oneself up to date'.
