Usage Note
Alba means the first light of day, poetically distinct from mattino (morning). Common expressions: all'alba (at dawn), dall'alba al tramonto (from dawn to dusk). It is also a common Italian feminine given name. Do not confuse with l'alba and il tramonto (sunset), which are natural antonyms.
