Usage Note
Arbitrarietà is an invariable feminine noun (the accent on the final à signals stress and invariability). Like other abstract nouns ending in -tà, it has no distinct plural form: le arbitrarietà. It is used in legal and philosophical discourse to criticize decisions made without rational basis.
