Also means
to decorate (an interior)
Usage Note
Arredare means to furnish and fit out a room or building with furniture and fixtures. It is more complete than simply mettere i mobili — it implies an aesthetic arrangement. The noun arredamento (furnishing, interior design) comes from the same root, as does arredatore (interior designer). The auxiliary is avere: ho arredato l'appartamento. The past participle arredato also serves as an adjective: appartamento arredato (furnished flat).
Examples
"Hanno arredato la casa con gusto moderno."
Natural Translation
They furnished the house with modern taste.
