Usage Note
Carbonico appears chiefly in the fixed scientific phrases anidride carbonica (carbon dioxide, CO₂) and acido carbonico (carbonic acid). Outside these compounds it is a technical adjective rarely used in everyday speech; di carbonio is the more common way to say 'carbon' attributively in other contexts.
