Compratore is masculine; the feminine form is compratrice. It refers to the person who buys, especially in commercial or legal contexts: trovare un compratore (to find a buyer). A near-synonym is acquirente (m/f), which is slightly more formal and used in legal documents. In everyday speech chi compra or cliente is more common.
