Usage Note
Contrattuale is used in legal and labour contexts to describe matters governed by contract: obbligazione contrattuale (contractual obligation), diritti contrattuali (contractual rights). It is invariable for gender. The related noun contratto means 'contract'; contrattare means 'to negotiate' or 'to haggle'.
