Usage Note
Dismisura almost always appears in the prepositional phrase a dismisura (excessively, beyond all measure) — crescere a dismisura means 'to grow excessively.' Used as a standalone noun it is literary and rare. Do not confuse with misura (measure, size) or smisurato (enormous, immoderate).
Examples
"I prezzi sono aumentati a dismisura."
Natural Translation
Prices have risen excessively.
