Disprezzare takes a direct object and is stronger than non apprezzare; it implies active contempt. The noun form is disprezzo (contempt). Do not confuse with disprezzabile (despicable) — a useful derived adjective. Conjugated regularly (-are): disprezza, disprezzano.
