esistenziale
existential
Origin: From Medieval Latin existentialis, relating to existence.
Usage Note
Esistenziale refers to matters of existence or the human condition: angoscia esistenziale ('existential anxiety'), crisi esistenziale ('existential crisis'). It is also used in philosophy to describe the existentialist tradition (filosofia esistenziale). The word does not inflect for gender: un problema esistenziale (m), una domanda esistenziale (f). The suffix -ale signals that it is an invariable-gender adjective.
Examples
"Sta attraversando una crisi esistenziale profonda."
Natural Translation
She is going through a deep existential crisis.
