Also means
stranger
Usage Note
Estraneo means 'foreign to, unrelated to' or 'a stranger' (uno sconosciuto/estraneo = 'a stranger'). As an adjective it often appears in essere estraneo a qualcosa ('to have nothing to do with something'). Do not confuse with straniero ('foreigner' in the sense of a non-Italian national).
Examples
"È estraneo ai fatti della vicenda."
Natural Translation
He is unrelated to the facts of the matter.
