Usage Note

Estraneità expresses the state of feeling foreign, estranged, or unrelated to something. It is invariable in the plural (le estraneità) because it ends in a stressed vowel. It is more abstract than stranezza (strangeness) and often appears in philosophical or psychological contexts. The root adjective is estraneo (foreign, extraneous).
