Usage Note

Etica is used both as a count noun (un'etica del lavoro — 'a work ethic') and as an uncountable field of study (studia etica — 'she studies ethics'). Do not confuse with etichetta ('label' or 'etiquette') — they are unrelated words despite the visual similarity. The adjective is etico (comportamento etico — 'ethical behavior').
