Usage Note
Incomodo can be an adjective (una situazione incomoda = an awkward situation) or a noun (essere d'incomodo = to be a nuisance). The noun use — non voglio essere d'incomodo (I don't want to be a bother) — is a common polite formula. Do not confuse with scomodo, which is more general and more widely used in modern Italian.
