Usage Note
Inflazione is the standard economic term for inflation in Italian. The adjective inflazionistico describes inflationary tendencies. In colloquial speech Italians also use inflazione humorously to mean an oversupply of something — l'inflazione di selfie ('the glut of selfies') — a loose metaphorical extension.
