Usage Note

Interni is the plural of interno and has two main uses: the interiors of buildings or spaces (gli interni di una casa = the interiors of a house), and the Ministry of the Interior (il Ministero degli Interni). In Italian film production, interni indicates indoor shots, contrasting with esterni (exterior shots). As an adjective, interno means internal or inner.
