Lampada is the general word for a lamp (the object), while lampadina (diminutive) is the light bulb. Lampada da tavolo is a desk lamp; lampada da terra a floor lamp. Do not confuse with lampione (street lamp) or lampadario (chandelier). The plural lampade is regular.
