Usage Note

Laureato (feminine laureata) is someone who holds a university degree (laurea). In Italy, a laurea traditionally requires five years of study; the Bologna reform introduced a three-year laurea triennale and a two-year laurea magistrale. Laureato can also function as an adjective: una persona laureata.
