Usage Note
Li is the masculine plural direct-object pronoun ('them'), used for people or things and placed before the verb: li compro ('I buy them'). Don't confuse it with the accented lì, which means 'there'.

I saw them at the market.
Literal Translation
Them I-have seen at-the market.
