Usage Note

Meditare can mean both the spiritual practice of meditation and, more broadly, to think deeply about something. In the spiritual sense it often appears with sulla or in: meditare sulla vita. The reflexive meditarsi is rare; the plain form is standard. It is a regular first-conjugation verb.
