Ministro is used for cabinet ministers: il Ministro dell'Interno is the Interior Minister. The feminine form is ministra (or sometimes il ministro even for women in formal contexts). Primo ministro means Prime Minister. Do not confuse with minestro (there is no such word) or minestra (soup).
