Also means
to mingle
Usage Note
Mischiare takes avere as its auxiliary in compound tenses: ho mischiato le carte ('I shuffled the cards'). It is interchangeable with mescolare for mixing liquids or ingredients, but mischiare is preferred for shuffling cards or mixing crowds. The reflexive mischiarsi means 'to mingle' or 'to get mixed up in something'.
Examples
"Mischia bene le carte prima di distribuirle."
Natural Translation
