Usage Note

Mistico can be an adjective (un'esperienza mistica = a mystical experience) or a noun (un mistico = a mystic). As a noun it is masculine; the feminine is una mistica. It should not be confused with misterioso (mysterious), which implies secrecy rather than spiritual depth.
