Mollare is colloquial and versatile: it can mean to release a grip, to give up on something, or to stop pestering someone (mollami! — 'leave me alone!'). It takes avere as its auxiliary. In informal speech, mollare tutto means 'to drop everything and walk away', often with a sense of liberation.
