Usage Note

Motivato agrees in gender and number: motivato, motivata, motivati, motivate. It can describe a person who is driven and enthusiastic (uno studente motivato) or a decision that is well-reasoned and justified (una scelta motivata). As a past participle of motivare it also appears in passive constructions (la decisione è motivata da... = the decision is motivated by...).
