Usage Note
Mutanda is used almost exclusively in the plural mutande in everyday speech — saying una mutanda (singular) sounds odd to native speakers. The plural le mutande refers to a pair of underpants. Mutandine is the diminutive used for women's underwear or children's pants.
Examples
"Dove metti le mutande pulite?"
Natural Translation
