Usage Note
Ordinativo is a formal administrative and commercial term for a written order to supply goods or services — closer to 'procurement order' than a casual shop receipt. It appears frequently in public-sector and bureaucratic Italian (ordinativo di pagamento = payment order). Do not confuse with l'ordine, which is the broader everyday word for 'order'.
Examples
"L'ufficio ha emesso un ordinativo di fornitura."
Natural Translation
The office issued a supply order.
