Usage Note
Oziosamente derives from ozioso ('idle, lazy') and describes doing something without purpose or effort. The root ozio means 'leisure' or 'idleness' and appears in the proverb l'ozio è il padre di tutti i vizi ('idleness is the father of all vices'). In modern usage the adverb often has a mildly negative connotation of wasting time.
