Pool is an English loanword used in Italian business and legal language: pool di banche (banking consortium), pool di magistrati (a team of prosecutors working together). It is always masculine and invariable: il pool, i pool. In Italian judicial history the word became famous through the 'pool Mani Pulite', the anti-corruption prosecutor team of the 1990s.
