Usage Note

Porcheria can mean physical filth, a disgusting object, or — very commonly — something of terrible quality (che porcheria! = what rubbish!). It is also used as a mild vulgarism for an obscene thing or act. The plural porcherie is common. The word is informal-to-vulgar in register; avoid in formal settings. Not to be confused with porchetta (roast pork).
