Usage Note
Pressoché means 'almost' or 'nearly' and is used in formal and written Italian — pressoché impossibile (almost impossible). It is more emphatic than quasi and slightly literary; in speech, Italians strongly prefer quasi. The accent on the final é is obligatory in writing.
