Usage Note

Prevedere means 'to foresee' or 'to forecast' (prevedere il futuro = 'to foresee the future'; si prevedono piogge = 'rain is forecast') and also 'to provide for' in legal or contractual language (il contratto prevede... = 'the contract provides for...'). It takes avere as auxiliary and is conjugated like vedere, including its irregular past participle previsto.
