Usage Note
Programmatore is the standard word for a computer programmer or software developer. The feminine form is programmatrice (not programmatora), following the -tore/-trice pattern. In broader usage it can also mean a TV program scheduler or a device programmer, but the computing sense dominates in modern Italian.
