Usage Note

Pure is a versatile particle. As an adverb it means 'also' or 'even': viene pure lui ('he is coming too'). In polite invitations it signals permission: accomodati pure ('please, go ahead and sit down'), dimmi pure ('feel free to tell me'). It also appears in concessive constructions: pur essendo stanco, ha lavorato ('even though tired, he worked'). Do not confuse with però ('however').
