Also means
sorrow
Usage Note
Rammarico conveys a feeling of regret or sorrow, often for something one could not prevent or for a missed opportunity. It is slightly more formal than dispiacere (which also serves as a verb). The verb form is rammaricarsi (to regret, to feel sorry): mi rammarico di non averlo visto ('I regret not having seen him').
Examples

Natural Translation
He expressed his regret for the mistake.
