Usage Note
Rap is invariable — it does not pluralise in Italian (i rap if needed, though it mostly functions as an uncountable genre noun). It is used as both a noun and, colloquially, an adjective: un artista rap (a rap artist). The Italian hip-hop scene is called rap italiano, and artists often blend Italian dialects with standard Italian. The word is pronounced as in English, without any Italianisation.
