Rimediare has two distinct registers. Formally it means to remedy or fix a problem: rimediare a un errore (to remedy a mistake). Colloquially, rimediare qualcosa means to manage to scrape something together or get hold of it — riesci a rimediare due biglietti? (can you get hold of two tickets?). The auxiliary in compound tenses is avere.
