Usage Note

Rintracciare means to locate someone or something after searching: non riesco a rintracciarlo (I can't get hold of him). It is common with people (tracking someone down by phone) and objects (locating a document). Compound form of tracciare with the intensifying rin- prefix. Auxiliary is avere.
