sacca

bag, sack

noun SAHK-kah Rare

Also means

pocket (of water or air)

Usage Note

Sacca can be a large soft bag (sacca da viaggio = travel bag) or a figurative 'pocket' of something, as in sacca d'aria (air pocket) or sacca di resistenza (pocket of resistance). Do not confuse with sacco (m), which is a sack or large bag; sacca (f) often implies a more structured or carried bag. The plural is sacche.

Examples

Natural Translation

She put everything in the sports bag.
