Usage Note

Saluti is the plural of saluto and is used at the end of letters and emails much like 'regards' or 'best wishes' in English: Cordiali saluti (Kind regards), Distinti saluti (Yours faithfully). As a noun phrase un saluto means a single greeting. The verb is salutare (to greet). Note that salute! (singular) is also used as a toast ('cheers!') and when someone sneezes ('bless you!').
