Also means
to flay
Usage Note
Scuoiare means to remove the hide from an animal after slaughter. It takes avere as its auxiliary. Figuratively it can mean to fleece or rip someone off (mi hanno scuoiato = they really ripped me off). Do not confuse with scorticare (to graze or scrape skin).
Examples
"Il macellaio ha scuoiato il coniglio rapidamente."
Natural Translation
The butcher skinned the rabbit quickly.
